For better education, the pursuit of the American Dream, or simply to find a sense of belonging in a foreign land—these families left their original homes to create a new one, building a shared vision of what “home” means to them.
Hideko THAI and SUSHI Restaurant (2024)
Hideko Sushi and Thai 2 (Sarasota) opened in 2017 and is run by a Thai family, Sae-Lee, who moved to the United States in 2016. Before coming to the United States, none of the family members of Sae-Lee knew how to cook or even run a restaurant.
Midnight Sarasota (2024)
In the quiet hours of dawn (4 am), I walked from campus to the shores of Lido Beach and the Saint Armands Circle by foot.
