Midnight Sarasota
(2024)

Living in Sarasota feels like living in a small isolated land, next to the beach, surrounded by parking lots, and the breeze makes you feel like you are the only person who is still awake.

I walked to the Lido beach and the Saint Armands Circle a couple of times from Ringling campus by foot in the early morning. No people, no cars, nothing is going on which is a familiar feeling but more “liminal” I guess…

This was a photo walk to capture the feeling of liminality by focusing on human-made objects on the street and landscape that have no one at night and early morning between 4 am - 7 am.
