「海對我說...」。

 

影片中貫穿始終的海洋影像攝於疫情之下的2020年，那是我和父母環台灣時拍攝的東海岸太平洋—一片我跨越過無數次的藍天，為了求學、旅行、家。

 

所有素材均取自我個人的檔案收藏；每段影片呈現了不同交通工具或步行穿梭和時間的場景變化來強調每一短旅程的「過程」，並藉由我實際鼠標操作去拖拉觀看這些影片去回憶這些在腦海中的片刻。

 

為什麼中文會說腦海？國語辭典上的釋義是：

主管記憶、知覺、思想等的腦部，因其廣泛如海，故稱為「腦海」。

 

身為一個生活在國外的創作者，我常常望著有海的方向問話、抒發一直以來對家的掛念與想念。藉此以互動元素的問答編程來模擬內心的一些思緒和視覺上的編織重疊，邀請觀眾思考離鄉議題以及周圍世界的變化無常。

“Ocean speaks to me”.

The ocean imagery that was throughout the entire video was captured in 2020 under the pandemic, during a trip in Taiwan with my parents. The scenes show the Pacific Ocean on the east coast of Taiwan—a stretch of sky and sea that I’ve crossed countless times for studies, travel, and home.

 

All the footage is sourced from my personal archive collection, with each segment highlighting the transitions of various modes of travel, or simply walking, to emphasize the “process” of each brief journey. By manually dragging and viewing these clips with my mouse, I relive these moments imprinted in my mind.

 

Why do we say “腦海” (nao hai) or “the ocean of the mind” in Chinese? The Mandarin dictionary defines it as: “The brain that governs memory, perception, and thought is vast like the sea, hence the term ‘nao hai.’”

 

As an artist living abroad, I often look toward the sea, asking questions and expressing the homesickness that lingers within me. Through an interactive, question-driven element, I simulate some of these inner reflections and layers of visual overlays, inviting viewers to ponder the themes of displacement and the ever-shifting nature of the world around us.
